Fun Project

I bought blocks @ JoAnn Fabrics a few months ago, & decided before they get misplaced in my garage, I should do something with them...

The first set was painted in ASCP Florence with the letters in ASCP Old White.... the second set was painted in ASCP Olive with the letters in ASCP Old White...

Super easy to do & fun gift idea for teachers, friends, or yourself!

I just painted the blocks first, then used a stencil... I used a foam brush to stipple on the paint... let it dry, distress with sandpaper & then I finished it off with a coat of spray shellac to seal it.... done & super easy!!

Both sets are Available for Purchase @ Eco Chic....

or try to make them yourself!!

Beautiful Bed Frame

Before

After

This bedframe started out very outdated & quite dreary looking, but with a fresh coat of ASCP in Old White, some distressing & waxing, it looks shiny & new!

I love how the details come out with the Old White paint!

Beachy Set....

I can't believe I forgot to take "befores".... aughhhh!

After

I absolutely love these!!  I tried a different technique called "white-washing"....  I didn't use white, but instead mixed ASCP Old White with ASCP Graphite to get a lighter gray wash.  I did uneven, but straight across quick paint strokes until I got the first coat on.  Once that was dry, I did the same thing over again to even out the strokes.....

The look is very beachy & weathered/rustic.  The drawers were painted in a combo of ASCP Florence, Old White, Versailles (basically whatever I had a little left of, I mixed together to get this color)... unfortunately, I couldn't reproduce this color if I tried!!

Custom Job ~ Love this piece!

Before

After

This was such a fun job to do!  Some friends of mine asked me to come to their house & paint this beautiful, antique buffet for them.

I'll list a few reasons why this was fun:

1.  They are really cool people

2.  They made me coffee

3.  I got to paint indoors... instead of my freezing cold garage that doesn't have heat

4.  The buffet was awesome with/without paint, so I really couldn't screw it up!

OK... done with the list!  She wanted this painted in ASCP Versailles & then distressed & waxed in both clear/dark wax.

This was a great job to do for great people ~ thanks!!!

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall......

Before

After

This is a great mirror if you have a lot of wall space to cover.... it's quite large & loaded with character.

I painted it in ASCP Graphite, distressed, & waxed in both clear & dark wax.

Available for purchase @ Eco Chic

Before

After

I ended up mixing English Yellow with Versailles to get this color & I like it.  It is pretty subtle.... kind of a buttery color.  It was then distressed & both clear & dark waxed....  It has a rustic appearance & would be the perfect addition anywhere in your home or cabin!

Available for purchase @ Eco Chic!

Retro Hutch

Before

After

Finally delivered to Eco Chic thanks to my Father-in-Law!!

This hutch is awesome!  It is in excellent shape & would be perfect in many different areas of the home.

I painted the base in ASCP Graphite & the back, doors, & drawers in ASCP Versailles.  It has some light distressing on the edges & a coat of clear wax.

Olive Mirror

before

after

I hadn't done a mirror in awhile, so it was fun to do something different!  The subtle details on the corners of the mirror were fun to work with....  I painted this ASCP Olive, distressed, & waxed with dark wax...

Sunny Side Table

before... lots of spindles on this baby!

after

lots of distressing

This was a fun piece... I knew I would be doing a lot of distressing on this piece & went back & forth on the color....  ASCP English Yellow was my final choice & I really like it!

If your looking for a punch of color in any room of your home, this would be the perfect piece!

Available for purchase @ Eco Chic

Character Side Table

before

after

This side table has 3 different colors of paint on it... I first painted the whole thing in ASCP's Emperor's Silk & decided it wasn't quite right... so I painted the drawers in ASCP Graphite & the base in ASCP Old White.  I really like how it turned out.  The drawers look navy on this picture, but are really a charcoal gray.

Dresser for Little "C"

This is a 1950's dresser with great lines & subtle detail..

I did some mixing with ASCP Emperor's Silk & Florence to get this beautiful purplish color....

The drawers were painted in ASCP Old White...

My little "C" loves purple, so when she needed a new dresser, I knew it had to have some purple without it being too purple (you know what I mean????)...

I love the distressed, aged, look of this dresser, because with my little one, it will look distressed sooner than later anyway, so I just started the process!

Fall Colors

These cute little guys were a mess!!  They both were inlaid in leather on the top & the leather was in bad shape!!  The first step was stripping off the leather, & when that idea failed, I had to take drastic measures....

This was how the top looked with the leather stripped.... not good!

I ended up unscrewing the top of both side tables, flipping them & re-screwing them back on.... uff da....  then I had to fill all of the nail holes... lots of work, but I love the "after"......

Here they are in ASCP Olive & the drawers in ASCP Versailles.... lots of dark wax & distressing, also!

These sold right away, so the hard work paid off!!

My Front Door Makeover

before ~ dark & dreary

after

Thank goodness for rainy days... not only did I have time to paint my front door, but I made this fun, fall wreath (inspired by Pinterest)!

I like the fresh look of my front door painted in Annie Sloan's Versailles.... brightens up the exterior of my house ~ mission accomplished.

Very cute.... well, they didn't start that way!!

before ~ yikes!

after

I will first of all have to thank my brother & sister-in-law for picking up these chairs for me!

They were in need of lots of work!!!  I took the seats off & removed the fabric & padding (which was very gross)!  I bought brand new padding (1"thick) & some upholstery fabric to finish the new look!

I painted the chairs in ASCP's Pure White, distressed heavily & waxed to finish ~ hope you like their new look!
