Dresser for Little "C"

This is a 1950's dresser with great lines & subtle detail..

I did some mixing with ASCP Emperor's Silk & Florence to get this beautiful purplish color....

The drawers were painted in ASCP Old White...

My little "C" loves purple, so when she needed a new dresser, I knew it had to have some purple without it being too purple (you know what I mean????)...

I love the distressed, aged, look of this dresser, because with my little one, it will look distressed sooner than later anyway, so I just started the process!

Thanks for looking!

Fall Colors

These cute little guys were a mess!!  They both were inlaid in leather on the top & the leather was in bad shape!!  The first step was stripping off the leather, & when that idea failed, I had to take drastic measures....

This was how the top looked with the leather stripped.... not good!

I ended up unscrewing the top of both side tables, flipping them & re-screwing them back on.... uff da....  then I had to fill all of the nail holes... lots of work, but I love the "after"......

Here they are in ASCP Olive & the drawers in ASCP Versailles.... lots of dark wax & distressing, also!

These sold right away, so the hard work paid off!!

My Front Door Makeover

before ~ dark & dreary

after

Thank goodness for rainy days... not only did I have time to paint my front door, but I made this fun, fall wreath (inspired by Pinterest)!

I like the fresh look of my front door painted in Annie Sloan's Versailles.... brightens up the exterior of my house ~ mission accomplished.

Very cute.... well, they didn't start that way!!

before ~ yikes!

after

I will first of all have to thank my brother & sister-in-law for picking up these chairs for me!

They were in need of lots of work!!!  I took the seats off & removed the fabric & padding (which was very gross)!  I bought brand new padding (1"thick) & some upholstery fabric to finish the new look!

I painted the chairs in ASCP's Pure White, distressed heavily & waxed to finish ~ hope you like their new look!

Thanks for looking!

The tall dresser & nightstands are excellent quality, sturdy pieces

These pieces are really beautiful & really large!!  They are currently in my garage, but will be leaving soon, so if your interested in these great furniture pieces, just let me know.  I am selling the pieces separately with the exception of the nightstands (they will be sold as a set)!

Uff Da.....I'm Behind...

Funny name for this blog post & I feel I need to explain.....

I am very behind on updating my blog... I decided today, to attempt to catch up, because I actually have been very busy doing furniture & projects!  From the looks of my blog, one would think I've taken a month off, but I've just been really busy doing furniture & not very busy posting it!

I promise to try to get better @ updating my blog in a timely manner (I'm not sure which of these pieces are still available @ Eco Chic)... I'll find out tomorrow & post what has sold & what is still available...  sheesh!!!

Thanks for looking @ all of the "before" & "afters" & for supporting Bismarck's new local business, Eco Chic!!

Just a few fun pieces from this summer!

Chalkboards From Frames

before

after

I really wanted to keep one of these chalkboards for my own kiddos... but decided to take them to Eco Chic instead!

I bought the wood frames from a garage sale, painted them in ASCP's Florence with distressing & dark wax.  My wonderful father-in-law cut MDF boards to fit & then I painted them with 3 coats of chalkboard paint.  I just love them!

If you like them, check them out @ Eco Chic Bismarck!

From Rustic to Stylish

before

after

My mom found this piece @ a garage sale & thought that I would like to have it.... she was right!!  It needed to be cleaned up before beginning to paint.  The base is done in ASCP's Florence, and the top I sanded a little & then loaded on the dark wax.  I also waxed over the Florence with dark wax to keep the rustic look going!

Eco Chic Bismarck ~ SOLD

Diamond Desk

before

after

I love this desk for a few reasons.....  the first is that it's solid as a rock... built extremely well, the second reason is that is it circa 1950 (I find older pieces of furniture very cool)... and lastly, I really like the way it looks!

I painted the base of the desk in ASCP's Florence & the drawers in ASCP's Pure White.  I taped off diamond shapes & used Florence for the diamond & a mix of Florence/Duck Egg Blue/Old White for the criss cross lines.  It is striking & also is functional!

Available for purchase @ Eco Chic Bismarck

2 Tiered Table

before

after

A really pretty table....  I painted this in ASCP's Pure White, distressed, & clear waxed.  If you like this piece & would like to see it in person, please head over to Eco Chic Bismarck!
